Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure project schedule and budget are met for areas of assigned work.
  • Work collaboratively with personnel across all business units.
  • Assist with provision of civil engineering designs with particular focus in areas such as earthworks and road design, for both mining and energy applications.
  • Liaise with engineers to establish design requirements and then combine all relevant information into an integrated and coherent design model for review.
  • Produce all designs in accordance with relevant standards. Including either Australian for local projects or international standards for project external to Australia.
  • GIS and Data management (both Fortescue data and publicly available data) that will inform models and drawings.
  • Participating in project meetings and present design options as required.
  • Development of Geospatial files and maps to support the design and approvals process
To be successful in this role:
  • Over 5-8 years proven experience in a Civil designer role.
  • Strong teamwork, people skills, and working effectively in multi-disciplines environment.
  • Committed, motivated, flexible, agile, and adaptable to changing project requirements and timelines.
  • Solid experience in technical design and construction document delivery.
  • Experience and proficient in the design layout and detailing of Civil Infrastructure, Drainage and Non-Process Infrastructure.
  • Advanced computer skills, with solid experience in 12d Modelling and Microstation software.
  • Proficient in spatial data management. Experience of GIS software such as Global mapper and ARCGIS will be highly regarded.
  • Ideally hold a Diploma of Civil Engineering or other similar qualification.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in collaboration with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams.
  • Able to create customisation and macros within 12d preferred.
