This is a great opportunity to work on HV infrastructure across a number of sites as part of a de-carb project for a tier-one miner.

$87 an hour flat + super with 12 hour shifts. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute commissioning, functional testing, and energisation of high‑voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and associated control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, single‑line diagrams, and commissioning/test procedures.
  • Perform insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, and secondary injection testing.
  • Test, fault‑find, and commission low‑voltage electrical systems.
  • Commission and validate electrical and process control systems.
  • Conduct calibration of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Ensure all works comply with AS/NZS 3000, AS 2067, and other relevant Australian standards and statutory requirements.
  • Identify, diagnose, and rectify electrical faults, defects, and non‑conformances.
  • Maintain accurate commissioning records, test results, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with engineers, package managers, and operations personnel.
  • Comply with all site safety, environmental, and quality management procedures at all times.
Skills & Qualifications
  • WA (or equivalent) Electrical Licence.
  • HV Switching Operator certification
  • Demonstrated experience in high-voltage installation and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of protection and control systems.
  • High level of commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a commissioning team.
  • Current CPR/LVR and White Card.
  • Valid driver's licence.

Desirable Experience
  • Minimum 5 year’s Experience in mining, renewable energy, or high-voltage infrastructure, including AC and DC chargers.
  • Proven experience preparing and executing High Voltage switching including preparation of switching programs
  • Knowledge of SCADA and protection relay systems (e.g., SEL, Schneider, Siemens).
  • Familiarity with commissioning documentation and pre-commissioning processes.
  • Understanding of isolation and permitting systems.
  • Knowledge of WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations and relevant HV Legislation
