Commissioning Electrician
Responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems in line with safety standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission and functionally test HV systems (switchgear, transformers, protection relays, control systems).
  • Interpret electrical schematics and test procedures.
  • Perform IR, continuity, polarity, secondary injection, and LV testing.
  • Commission control systems and calibrate instruments.
  • Fault-find and resolve electrical issues.
  • Maintain accurate test and commissioning documentation.
  • Work closely with engineers and site teams to coordinate activities.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
  • WA Electrical Licence.
  • HV Switching Operator certification.
  • Experience in HV installation/commissioning and protection/control systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and safety focus.
  • Ability to work independently and within a commissioning team.
  • Current CPR/LVR, White Card, and valid driver’s licence.
Desirable
  • 5+ years in mining, renewables, or HV infrastructure (AC/DC chargers).
  • Experience preparing/executing HV switching programs.
  • Knowledge of SCADA and protection relays (SEL, Schneider, Siemens).
  • Familiar with commissioning documentation, isolation, and permitting systems.
  • Understanding of WA Mines Safety and HV regulations.
