About the Role
 
We're looking for a skilled and reliable Crane/Hi-Ab Operator to support our client, a leading company operating in utilities and civil works projects. While you'll be operating trucks and Hi-Ab cranes, this is a physically demanding role where the a lot of your time will be spent on the ground doing labouring work —including trenching, spotting, material handling, and utility installation support.
 
Ideal for someone who's not just confident behind the wheel, but also ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into manual work with the team.
Key Responsibilities

  • Operating Hi-Ab crane for lifting and placement of materials and equipment
  • Driving HR truck with Road Ranger gearbox - local delivery of loads to and from site
  • Manual trenching, pit and conduit installation, and civil works around utilities
  • General site labouring, clean-up, and equipment handling
  • Spotting, traffic management support, and assisting operators as required
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times
Requirements
  • Hi-Ab (CV) Ticket - Mandatory
  • Unrestricted HR Licence (Open Class) - Mandatory
  • Road Ranger gearbox experience - Essential
  • White Card - Construction Induction Safety Certificate
  • First Aid & CPR - Mandatory
  • Knowledge of working safely around utilities (water, gas, power, comms)
  • Physically fit with a strong work ethic - willing to labour as main part of role
  • Safety-focused, team-oriented, and proactive on-site
