About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of renewals and minor capital works across water and wastewater infrastructure projects in South East Queensland.
This is a hands-on contract role working closely with Project Managers, site teams and delivery partners under a collaborative asset lifecycle delivery program.
 
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide technical expertise, project coordination and engineering support across multidisciplinary projects. You’ll be involved from design through to delivery, ensuring safety, quality, cost and programme outcomes are achieved.

The role is predominantly office-based with occasional site visits required.

Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide technical advice and engineering support to project delivery teams
    • Assist in the delivery of electrical works across renewals and minor capital projects
    • Develop and review project documentation, technical reports and scopes of work
    • Support site coordination and subcontractor management
    • Participate in Safety in Design processes and hazard identification
    • Ensure designs are fit-for-purpose, cost-effective and constructible
    • Assist with budgeting, cost control, forecasting and reporting
    • Support estimating, procurement and subcontractor engagement
    • Ensure compliance with HSE, quality and environmental requirements
About You
You are a proactive and solutions-focused Project Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working across multiple stakeholders.
Essential:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years’ project engineering experience in water and/or wastewater projects (SE QLD highly regarded)
  • Experience delivering self-perform D&C projects
  • Strong subcontractor management experience
  • Proven capability in budgeting, scheduling and cost reporting
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence
Desirable:
  • RPEQ (or working towards)
  • Treatment plant or water infrastructure experience
Contract & Conditions
  • Contract: 12 January 2026 – 30 June 2026 (extension possible)
  • Hours: 38 hours per week (standard business hours; occasional overtime may be required)
  • Rate: $125 – $140 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Location:
    • 4 days office-based (Bundall / Arundel, QLD)
    • 1 day work-from-home
    • Occasional site visits (company vehicle provided)
Requirements:
  • Australian Citizen or unrestricted work rights
  • Evidence of immunity or willingness to obtain Hepatitis A & B vaccination
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required
