About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of brownfield maintenance and improvement projects across fixed plant operations.
Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, this role will focus on developing project scopes, supporting budget preparation, coordinating engineering activities, and assisting project teams with the delivery of asset replacement, upgrade, remediation, and reliability improvement projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer who enjoys working closely with operations, maintenance, shutdown, and reliability teams while managing multiple stakeholders across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop scopes of work, technical specifications, cost estimates, and project execution plans
- Review detailed engineering designs and vendor submissions
- Manage electrical brownfield projects through the full project lifecycle
- Coordinate procurement activities and support contractor engagement processes
- Support shutdown planning and execution activities
- Liaise with Operations and Maintenance teams to minimise operational impacts
- Monitor contractor performance, project progress, and quality outcomes
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Manage project documentation including technical reviews, redlines, commissioning records, and handover documentation
- Support reliability improvements, asset replacement programs, and equipment upgrades
- Participate in risk assessments, commissioning activities, and project close-out processes
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years' project engineering experience within maintenance, asset management, or project delivery environments
- Demonstrated electrical project engineering experience within mining, resources, processing, or heavy industry environments
- Experience with HV, MV, and LV electrical systems
- Working knowledge of switchgear, transformers, motors, VSDs, protection relays, and electrical infrastructure
- Experience developing scopes of work, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Ability to coordinate contractors and multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and safety requirements
- Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Current WA C Class Driver's Licence
- Fixed plant processing experience
- Brownfield project delivery experience
- Shutdown execution experience
- Reliability improvement, asset replacement, or obsolescence project experience
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience
- SAP PM experience
- AutoCAD or Bluebeam experience
