DRD Group are looking for an experienced and safety-focused Electrical Superintendent to lead the execution of electrical and instrumentation (E&I) works for bulk material handling upgrade projects in the Pilbara. This is a hands-on leadership role operating in a brownfields environment, requiring coordination across multiple disciplines and integration with live infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the safe and efficient delivery of all E&I works in accordance with company standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Champion a strong culture through visible safety leadership, toolbox talks, and pre-starts
- Manage shutdown integration and coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to mitigate interface risks
- Supervise electrical installation within a confined footprint, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
- Oversee contractor performance and ensure works are completed safely, on time, and to technical and quality standards
- Control electrical permits, isolations, and energisation processes
- Manage commissioning and handover activities, including testing, documentation, and operational readiness
- Conduct inspections and QA/QC checks to verify compliance with Australian Standards and project drawings
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation and resolve technical queries in collaboration with engineering teams
- Provide mentoring and direction to site-based electrical teams and contractors
- Support workforce capability development and foster a team culture aligned with the companies' values
- Electrical trade qualification and current WA electrical licence
- Extensive experience supervising E&I works on large-scale mining or infrastructure projects
- Proven experience in brownfields environments with shutdown integration
- Strong understanding of electrical systems for materials handling operations
- HV switching ticket and experience with HV/LV systems
- Familiarity with mining projects or iron ore operations
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and statutory regulations
- Experience in commissioning, pre-start testing, and energisation processes
- Proficiency in project reporting tools and QA/QC documentation systems
