This role is an opportunity for a decisive leader with proven experience in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing, strong operational instincts, and the ability to motivate teams and deliver results that stick.

Take the helm of a well-established steel fabrication and manufacturing business poised for its next phase of growth. We’re seeking a commercially sharp, hands-on General Manager to drive performance across operations, people, and profitability.

You’ll lead from the front with a mandate to optimise production, strengthening client relationships, and embedding a culture of safety, quality, and accountability. With full P&L ownership, you’ll align strategy with execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to spec in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities include;
Full P&L responsibility
Quotations and overseeing quote development and presentation
Business development and business expansion
Keep safety and compliance tight... non-negotiable
Lift performance across people, systems, and delivery
Own the numbers — revenue, margin, cost control
Client site attendance as needed
 
Experience Requirements
  • 10+ years leadership in heavy industrial fabrication, structural steel manufacturing or related sectors.
  • Proven P&L ownership of $25M business and a track record of margin and EBITDA growth.
  • Leadership of a multi-disciplinary team across trades, sales and operations.
  • Strong financial and digital literacy
  • A bias for execution, and a passion for growth
  • Someone who has experience with manufacturing, site install and wet / dry hire of crane and access equipment
  • Experience with management of ISO accreditations
  • Multi-site management experience
