About the Role We are seeking a motivated HSE Graduate Officer to support health, safety, and environmental functions across projects and operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience across compliance, risk management, incident investigation, and environmental performance within a structured and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support HSE compliance with legislation, standards, and company policies
- Assist with internal and external audits and track corrective actions
- Participate in risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety inspections
- Assist in incident reporting, data collection, and investigation processes
- Track corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure
- Coordinate HSE training records, inductions, and competency tracking
- Support safety culture initiatives including toolbox talks and awareness campaigns
- Maintain HSE documentation, registers, and reporting systems
- Assist in environmental monitoring including waste, emissions, and compliance reporting
- Prepare HSE reports, dashboards, and performance metrics
Mandatory Requirements
- Recent (or near completion) tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
Preferred
- 0–2 years’ experience in HSE, including internships or graduate roles
- Exposure to oil & gas, marine, construction, or heavy industry environments
- Basic understanding of Australian HSE regulations
- Willingness to learn risk assessment and incident investigation methodologies
