Seeking 3x Hydrometallurgy Laboratory Technician's for Green Iron production lab. 

Reporting to the Senior Chemist, the Laboratory Technician – Hydrometallurgy will support metallurgical testing and process development through laboratory experimentation, sample preparation, and instrumental analysis. The role is responsible for the accurate execution of test programs, maintaining laboratory standards, and producing high‑quality data to support process optimisation.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Support in hydrometallurgical tests such as leaching, precipitation, filtration and impurity removal
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis and characterisation of samples, raw materials, reagents, and products by using a multiple laboratory-based techniques (e.g. XRD, XRD, SEM, ICP, IC, Titration) under the guidance of relevant senior team members.
  • Follow standard test procedures and assist chemists, metallurgist and engineers
  • Record and report result accurately in laboratory notebook or spreadsheet
  • Adhere strictly to laboratory safety procedures and chemical handling protocols
  • Use appropriate PPE and participate in risk assessments
  • Assist in managing laboratory supplies including stocks of materials, chemicals, and waste disposal.
Qualifications & Experience  
  • A background in industrial chemistry, mineral processing, or materials science is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Metallurgy or related discipline with 1-3 years industry laboratory experience (desirable), or Certificate IV with more than 5 years industry laboratory experience
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a strong focus on safety
  • Experience in analytical methods and characterisation techniques highly desirable
  • Experience in industrial production laboratories handling hazardous materials desirable
  • Exhibits enthusiasm with a friendly “can do” attitude
  • Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative
  • Highly effective team player
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills and other analytical equipment software desired
  • Strong focus on safety and maintaining a clean working environment a must
