You will be responsible for:

  • Upholding company values and maintaining a strong commitment to safety standards and practices.
  • Ensuring all designs comply with relevant regulations, codes, internal standards, procedures, specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Producing high-quality models and design drawings based on engineering calculations and sketches.
  • Developing plant layouts using preliminary project data, basis of design, and other inputs.
  • Reviewing vendor drawings, models, and design documentation.
  • Meeting project schedules and budgets for assigned areas of work.
  • Tracking progress of drawings produced by team members under your supervision.
  • Managing design and drafting resources to achieve agreed deliverables within time and budget constraints.
  • Collaborating effectively with personnel across various business units.
  • Presenting developed 3D models and drawings to stakeholders.
  • Contributing to project reviews, including design, functional safety, risk, cost estimation, scheduling, and other technical evaluations.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering Design Drafting.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Mechanical Design/Drafting preferably in mining and mineral processing industries with knowledge of relevant industry standards and specifications.
  • Experience and proficient in the design layout and detailing of materials handling and process plants (full plant layout experience is key).
  • Experience with Bentely Products 2D and 3D.
  • Experience in effective supervision of drafting personnel.
  • Experience (or understanding of) fabrication and construction techniques in the materials handling and mineral processing industries.
  • Good communications and presentation skills.
  • Strong teamwork, people skills, and working effectively in multi-disciplines environment.
  • Committed, motivated, flexible, agile, and adaptable to changing project requirements and timelines.
