About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Project Engineer to support the delivery of renewable energy and decarbonisation projects. This role will provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, including project evaluation, development, design, construction, commissioning, and operational support.

The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert in Solar PV systems, supporting the delivery of innovative renewable energy projects while mentoring engineers and engaging with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Solar PV engineering and design activities across multiple projects
  • Conduct site assessments, resource evaluations, and technology selection studies
  • Develop plant generation forecasts and power performance assessments
  • Provide technical leadership and peer review support across renewable energy projects
  • Coordinate engineering design activities and integration of new technologies
  • Support project estimates, procurement activities, and business case development
  • Manage legislation, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation processes
  • Support construction, commissioning, testing, and operational activities
  • Review performance of plant and equipment and identify improvement opportunities
  • Mentor and support intermediate and graduate engineers
  • Engage with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout project delivery
Mandatory Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Engineering, or similar discipline
  • Strong experience in Solar PV power plant engineering and design
  • In-depth knowledge of Solar PV technologies, design methodologies, and system performance
  • Experience delivering projects across multiple phases of the project lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of Australian electrical and renewable energy standards
  • Excellent technical analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes
Preferred
  • Experience supporting renewable energy infrastructure projects
  • Experience in resource assessment, energy yield analysis, and technology evaluation
  • Experience mentoring and leading engineering teams
  • Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management experience
