- Supervising mechanical crews and subcontractors on pipeline or water‑infrastructure construction projects, including dewatering systems
- Installing, aligning, pressure‑testing and commissioning pipeline systems (steel, HDPE,), including valves, pumps, and metering equipment
- Planning and coordinating mechanical construction activities to meet schedule, budget and quality targets on site‑based works
- Experience with dewatering assets such as pumps, pump stations, wet wells, borefields, headers and return lines, including mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting
- Leading mechanical shutdowns, tie‑ins, and changeouts on live or staged pipeline systems under strict isolation and safety rules
- Reading and working from mechanical drawings, P&IDs, strain gauges, laser alignment equipment and technical specifications
- Managing lifting operations, rigging, crane coordination and heavy mechanical handling for pumps, valves, and pipeline sections
- Ensuring compliance with client and contractor HSE systems, permits‑to‑work, JHAs/SWIs, and safe work practices
- Ensure daily site diaries and timesheets are completed by Supervision team.
- Develop and monitor compliance in line with main contract program.
- Ensure the successful delivery of assigned project.
- Ensure effective utilisation and management of plant and equipment resources.
- Liaise with client representatives over site-based issues, working towards time efficient resolutions.
- Ensure project construction methodology and project delivery plans are reviewed and implemented.
- Manage site-based activities involving direct labour, subcontractors and materials to ensure all safety, quality and time requirements are met.
- Report regularly to the Project Manager or Construction Superintendent on project performance and costs against company objectives.
Requirements:
- Trade qualification and/or experience in building and construction related discipline as required.
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent (preferred).
- Certificate of WHS Statutory Responsibilities for Mining Supervisors (SRMS) Schedule 26.
- Construction Induction White Card.
- Current and valid driver's Licence C Class (Manual licence essential).
- Minimum 3 years Supervisory experience.
- Proven financial, risk, commercial, contractual and human resource management skills.
- Strong proven qualities of leadership, integrity, loyalty and performance management.
- Proven performance on successful projects with an exemplary safety track record.
- Sound and proven ability and knowledge in construction and project execution.
