About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join a high-performing OPF team at a major iron ore operation. This role is responsible for providing technical support and guidance to optimise plant performance, maximise production output, and ensure consistent product quality across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate daily, weekly, and end-of-month reports on plant production and metallurgical outputs
- Engage with plant operators to ensure optimal operation of process units
- Monitor plant performance and collaborate with operations and control room teams
- Identify process improvement opportunities through data analysis and investigations
- Liaise with quality teams to optimise feed blend and maximise throughput
- Support metallurgical technicians to ensure accuracy and safe lab operations
- Contribute to plant improvement projects, trials, and shutdown activities
- Assist in development of Safe Work Instructions and training programs
Mandatory Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in chemical, metallurgical engineering, or related discipline
- Strong knowledge of mineral processing, including dry and wet iron ore operations
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- High level of computer literacy, particularly in MS Excel
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work effectively in a site-based environment
Preferred
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in mineral processing or similar industry
- Experience with SAP or delay accounting systems
- Exposure to SCADA systems
- Previous site-based or FIFO experience
