We are currently partnering with a leading organisation in the mining and resources sector to recruit an experienced Purchasing Officer / Buyer to support their Customer Group. This position plays a key role in the procurement and expediting of goods and services essential to ongoing operations.

About the Role:

Working closely with the Purchasing Supervisor and broader commercial team, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end purchasing process, ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in line with established procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase and expedite materials, parts, supplies, equipment, and services in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures
  • Identify reliable and cost competitive suppliers, issuing RFQs and assessing quotation outcomes
  • Assist in analysing commercial benefit initiatives across capital projects, maintenance programs, and operational spend
  • Ensure all goods and services are ordered and received to required specifications
  • Verify accurate costing of materials
  • Provide consistent and high-quality purchasing support to internal stakeholders
About You:
  • Previous experience in a similar purchasing or buyer role, ideally within mining or resources
  • Strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, and procurement of goods and services
  • Sound knowledge of commercial and legal terms within the purchasing environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience across purchase to pay and logistics processes
  • SAP system experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ purchasing experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks involving financial and operational considerations
