We are looking for experienced Senior Civil Project Engineers to lead and manage the Early Works/bulk earthworks activities across major construction projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of large-scale Early Works/Site Preparation on Iron Ore Projects. You’ll work closely with Site Execution Team, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, execution, and monitoring of bulk earthworks packages
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports to guide construction activities
  • Coordinate subcontractors and survey teams to ensure efficient site operations
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans for earthworks scope
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design, safety, and environmental standards
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and maintain workflow
  • Prepare and review documentation including ITPs, RFIs, progress reports, and variation claims
  • Support quality assurance processes and ensure accurate reporting of earthworks progress
  • Contribute to risk assessments, method statements, and safety planning for high-risk activities
  • Assist in transitioning bulk earthworks into civil and structural phases of construction
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in civil construction, with a strong focus on bulk earthworks
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale earthworks on infrastructure, mining, or industrial projects
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, and compaction standards
  • Proficient in project management tools and software
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards, environmental regulations, and site safety protocols
