Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Contracts Advisor to support the delivery of major mining, energy, and infrastructure projects. This role is critical in managing the full lifecycle of contracts, from strategy development through to execution and close-out—while leading a small team and driving commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer post-award contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
- Monitor contractor performance and manage variations, claims, and disputes
- Ensure timely contract close-out and documentation of lessons learned
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets
- Lead tendering processes including RFP/RFQ preparation, evaluation, and award recommendations
- Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with suppliers and contractors
- Collaborate with project managers, legal, finance, and technical teams
- Provide expert advice on contractual risks and mitigation strategies
- Ensure adherence to client procurement policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate contract records and reporting for audit and governance
- Degree qualified in Law, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 5–8+ years’ experience in contracts management within mining, energy, or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of Australian contract law and construction contracts (e.g., AS4000, NEC)
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a small team (3 personnel)
