The primary purpose of this role is to support contract and procurement activities across a major projects portfolio, with a particular focus on the tendering of construction contracts and services, as well as post-award contract administration and contract close-out processes.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate tender packages for construction contracts, procurement activities, and service agreements.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions, including commercial pricing, to support project schedules and budgets.
  • Conduct tendering activities in accordance with established procurement and contracting plans.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and well-structured contract and procurement documentation that aligns with project requirements.
  • Identify and maximise cost-saving opportunities throughout the procurement and contract lifecycle.
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and training to junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide reports, recommendations, and commercial advice to support contract and procurement decision-making.
  • Identify and assess key commercial and contractual risks during pre-contract stages, engaging technical, legal, and other stakeholders where required.
  • Administer contracts during execution, including managing correspondence, notices, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop detailed pricing schedules, methods of measurement, and rules of credit.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of construction programmes and extension of time (EOT) claims.
  • Assess payment claims, variations, and extension of time claims in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Contribute to delivering project value through competitive sourcing strategies and effective contract management practices.
  • Collaborate closely with project, engineering, legal, quality, project controls, and logistics teams to ensure successful contract delivery.
 
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in contract administration within the mining, resources, infrastructure, or civil construction sectors, including exposure to SMP and EIC works.
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction contracts from tender development through to project completion and contract close-out.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, contract management, and commercial administration processes.
  • Experience evaluating contractor claims, variations, and contractual entitlements.
