About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and supporting mission-critical software platforms in a complex operational environment.

This is a hands-on role focused on solving challenging DevOps and cloud engineering problems, including Kubernetes platforms, GitOps-based deployment models, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, observability, and secure software delivery. You will play a key role in designing and maintaining scalable engineering systems that enable development teams to deliver software safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Kubernetes Platforms
  • Design, build, and manage Kubernetes environments including Amazon EKS and OpenShift.
  • Support cloud infrastructure across enterprise and operational technology environments.
  • Drive platform reliability, scalability, and security improvements.
GitOps & Deployment Automation
  • Develop and maintain GitOps solutions using Argo CD, ApplicationSets, and Helm.
  • Implement consistent deployment patterns across multiple environments.
  • Support deployment strategies for both connected and isolated networks.
CI/CD Engineering
  • Build reusable CI/CD frameworks and shared pipelines.
  • Develop GitHub Actions workflows, runners, and engineering standards.
  • Automate build, test, security scanning, artifact publishing, and deployment processes.
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
  • Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
  • Develop automation tools using Python and Bash.
  • Build repeatable development, integration, testing, and production environments.
Observability & Continuous Improvement
  • Enhance monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting capabilities.
  • Improve system performance, resilience, and operational efficiency.
  • Automate recurring support and troubleshooting activities.
Security & Platform Services
  • Strengthen secrets management and workload identity practices.
  • Improve software supply chain security and artifact management.
  • Implement security policies and engineering controls across platforms.
Developer Experience
  • Enable self-service engineering solutions.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and standards.
  • Improve developer productivity through automation and platform innovation.
AI-Assisted Engineering The successful candidate will have practical experience using AI-powered development tools and coding assistants to enhance engineering outcomes.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leveraging AI tools across coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Building reusable prompts, workflows, and automation patterns.
  • Validating AI-generated outputs through testing and peer review.
  • Promoting responsible and secure use of AI within engineering teams.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks related to AI-generated content, including security, privacy, and maintainability concerns.
Skills & Experience Essential
  • Extensive experience in a Senior DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Engineering role.
  • Strong Kubernetes expertise, ideally including EKS and/or OpenShift.
  • Advanced AWS cloud experience.
  • Strong Linux, networking, and security fundamentals.
  • Deep experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Hands-on GitOps experience using Argo CD and Helm.
  • Advanced CI/CD engineering and GitHub Actions experience.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python and Bash.
  • Experience implementing observability solutions and troubleshooting production systems.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools in software engineering environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and mentoring capabilities.
Desirable
  • Experience working in air-gapped, edge computing, or operational technology environments.
  • Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, Pyroscope, Alloy, or Jaeger.
  • Infisical, External Secrets Operator, Cilium, or Crossplane.
  • JFrog Artifactory and software supply chain management.
  • GitHub Enterprise administration.
  • Docker Swarm migration experience.
  • Exposure to .NET, TypeScript, or Go.
  • Experience in mining, industrial automation, autonomous systems, or other operationally critical environments.

Qualifications

Formal qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline are advantageous. Equivalent experience, certifications, and demonstrated technical capability will also be highly regarded.
