About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support major infrastructure and industrial projects. This role will focus on delivering electrical design solutions across all phases of the project lifecycle, from concept through to execution, within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform concept and detailed engineering for electrical distribution systems
• Support design of substations, switchrooms, cabling, lighting, and protection systems
• Develop engineering deliverables including calculations, load lists, datasheets, and bills of materials
• Support integration of HV and LV systems into complete operational designs
• Review 3D models, layouts, and engineering drawings
• Manage equipment packages including specifications, vendor reviews, and technical evaluations
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and best practice
• Support instrumentation and control interfaces as required
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and project functions
• Participate in safety, risk, and design reviews including HAZID and HAZOP
Mandatory Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in electrical engineering within mining or heavy industry
• Experience across concept design, FEED, and detailed design
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and project delivery
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments
Preferred
• Experience in construction, commissioning, or operations environments
• Experience managing vendors and equipment packages
• Strong knowledge of safety and risk processes
