About the role
We have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join the client's team to support their Decarbonisation journey and lead the infrastructure work packages.
Key accountabilities include:
Support the delivery of key work packages, including:
- Site distribution powerlines
- Heavy Mobile Equipment charging facilities
- Light and specialist mobile equipment battery charging infrastructure
- Electrification of existing fixed infrastructure assets
- Creation and review of contract tender documentation.
- Technical assurance and review of preliminary engineering, detailed engineering and construction packages.
- Management of internal and external stakeholders, including internal personnel, construction contractors, consultants, and the broader Fortescue family
- Drive schedule improvements to reduce delivery timeframes safely
- Deliver cost and capital effective solutions to improve the project’s capital intensity whilst delivering the projects scope on time and within budget safely.
- Provide effective and strategic reporting and communications of project performance on a regular basis.
- Interpret and implement engineering design discipline and specifications.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (5-10 years).
- Demonstrated experience supporting and delivering large, complex and multi discipline project packages.
- Solid technical base with demonstrated experience within power distribution networks and low voltage systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing external design consultants and construction contractors.
- Ability to successfully engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence.
- Results driven, responsible and accountable.
- Ability to manage under pressure and adapt quicky to change.
- Great problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the mining industry would be well regarded.
