About the role
 
We have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join the client's team to support their Decarbonisation journey and lead the infrastructure work packages.
 
Key accountabilities include:  

Support the delivery of key work packages, including:

  • Site distribution powerlines 
  • Heavy Mobile Equipment charging facilities
  • Light and specialist mobile equipment battery charging infrastructure
  • Electrification of existing fixed infrastructure assets
  • Creation and review of contract tender documentation.
  • Technical assurance and review of preliminary engineering, detailed engineering and construction packages.
  • Management of internal and external stakeholders, including internal personnel, construction contractors, consultants, and the broader Fortescue family
  • Drive schedule improvements to reduce delivery timeframes safely
  • Deliver cost and capital effective solutions to improve the project’s capital intensity whilst delivering the projects scope on time and within budget safely.
  • Provide effective and strategic reporting and communications of project performance on a regular basis.
  • Interpret and implement engineering design discipline and specifications.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (5-10 years).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and delivering large, complex and multi discipline project packages.
  • Solid technical base with demonstrated experience within power distribution networks and low voltage systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing external design consultants and construction contractors.
  • Ability to successfully engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence.
  • Results driven, responsible and accountable.
  • Ability to manage under pressure and adapt quicky to change.
  • Great problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in the mining industry would be well regarded.
