About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to support major project delivery activities across large-scale mining and decarbonisation projects.

Reporting to the HSES Lead, you will provide coaching, mentoring, and technical advice to project leaders, supervisors, and contractors while driving strong safety outcomes and ensuring compliance with health and safety management systems.

This role requires a proactive safety professional who can influence behaviour at all levels, support contractor management activities, and promote a positive safety culture across complex construction and project environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support implementation of health and safety management systems and initiatives
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to leaders, employees, and contractors
  • Assist with incident investigations and corrective action management
  • Facilitate and review risk assessments including TBRAs and other safety processes
  • Conduct field leadership activities and safety interactions across project work fronts
  • Support contractor management and compliance activities
  • Deliver toolbox presentations and safety improvement initiatives
  • Monitor hazards, incidents, actions, and compliance requirements
  • Support critical control monitoring and major hazard management programs
  • Prepare HSE reports and performance metrics
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and assurance activities
  • Promote continuous improvement across safety systems and performance
Mandatory Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety or similar discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within construction, mining, processing, or oil & gas environments
  • Demonstrated contractor management experience
  • Strong risk management and incident investigation experience
  • ICAM or equivalent investigation training
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and safety management systems
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the workforce
Preferred
  • Internal Auditor qualification (WHS Management Systems)
  • Cert IV Training & Assessment (TAE)
  • Cert IV Leadership & Management or similar
  • Experience supporting major projects or construction environments
  • Knowledge of AS4801 and ISO 45001 and safety management system implementation
