About the Role
You’ll play a key role across the full project lifecycle — from early-stage studies through to execution — delivering mechanical engineering solutions on large-scale mining infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and best practice
- Develop engineering deliverables including calculations, equipment sizing, datasheets, and material take-offs
- Manage equipment packages – specifications, vendor engagement, evaluations, and FATs
- Review and support design outputs including layouts, 3D models, and construction drawings
- Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and project planning activities
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer
- 10+ years’ experience in mining or heavy industry
- Strong background across concept, FEED, and detailed design
- Experience with materials handling, slurry systems, or process plants highly regarded
- Proven ability to size and specify equipment (conveyors, pumps, piping, etc.)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to work across disciplines
- Experience with construction / commissioning phases
- FEA or 3D modelling capability
- Exposure to overland conveyors or chute design
- $85–$110/hr + Super
- 12-month initial contract with strong extension potential
- Perth-based, Monday to Friday role
