The Senior Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for working with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals to support and complete technical assessments, design and technical assurance for a wide range of projects across mine sites and project portfolio involving water resource management, hydrologic analysis, hydraulic modelling, flood-risk assessments and hydraulic design of water management infrastructure.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Collection and analysis of data (including rainfall and hydrology data) to inform studies, risk assessments and additional investigations.
• Complete hydrological assessments and surface water infrastructure design (including culvert crossings, floodways and diversions).
• Providing technical advice to project teams on water resource management that influences design, construction, and maintenance, of engineered structures including baseline and post development hydrology studies, flood risk assessments and stormwater management design.
• Provide technical support to a diverse team of professionals across multiple parts of the value chain (including project engineers, environment and approvals specialists, consultants, and contractors).
• Prepare project scopes, technical specifications, design reporting and technical documents, summarizing recommendations and work performed, concisely and to a high standard.
• Support obtaining water approvals across all relevant legislations.

Qualifications and skills required:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering or other related discipline
• Minimum 8-years post-graduate experience in water resources engineering.
• Experience in catchment hydrology/hydrological assessments, flood modelling/hydraulic modelling and stormwater management design.
• Proficiency using GIS and industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software packages including RoRB, TUFLOW and HecRAS.
• Clear communication skills, written and verbal.
• Strong data management and manipulation skills, with excellent computer literacy skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Prior experience with water licensing and/or RiWI Act permit requirements will be considered beneficial.
• Prior experience in a similar role preferably in engineering consulting, the mining sector or complex environments is highly desirable.
• A problem-solving mentality with the ability to "think outside of the box".
• Candidates must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
