About the Role
We are seeking experienced Shotfirers to join a high-performing mining operation in WA. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a strong drill and blast background who are looking for long-term career stability through a temp-to-perm pathway.
Working closely with operational teams, you will be responsible for the safe preparation, loading, and firing of production blasts while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, load, and detonate explosives in accordance with blast designs and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-blast inspections and ensure compliance with site requirements
- Collaborate with drillers and supervisors to execute accurate blast patterns
- Maintain and secure explosives, ensuring correct storage and handling procedures
- Complete blast reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Monitor environmental conditions and minimise impact from blasting activities
- Ensure blast areas are cleared, secured, and compliant prior to detonation
- Contribute to safe, efficient, and productive drill and blast operations
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in drill and blast operations
- Current Shotfirer's Licence
- Current Dangerous Goods Security Card
- Strong knowledge of explosives and blasting techniques
- Current WA Driver's Licence
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Experience within large-scale iron ore mining operations
- Stable employment history with demonstrated longevity in previous roles
- Exposure to production drill and blast environments in WA mining operations
