Site Senior Executive (SSE) required to oversee a mine site currently in Care & Maintenance. This is a site‑based leadership role focused on maintaining statutory compliance, site safety, and asset integrity during the C&M period.
The role is offered on an initial 3-6 month contract, with genuine potential to transition into a permanent position as the operation progresses into an operating site again or just a fill in role if that suits for the next 3-6 months.
Multiple rosters are available with either 5/2 local to Kalgoorlie or FIFO DIDO from around WA.
About the Role
- Appointed Site Senior Executive (SSE) under the WHS (Mines) Regulations (WA)
- Overall accountability for health, safety and risk management during Care & Maintenance
- Ensure ongoing statutory compliance, inspections, and reporting obligations are met
- Manage and coordinate contractors and small site teams
- Liaise with regulators, contractors, and corporate stakeholders as required
- Maintain a visible on‑site presence and provide operational support where appropriate during Care & Maintenance activities.
- Hands on participation in site activities where required, utilising appropriate plant and machinery tickets
You will be a practical, safety‑focused SSE who is comfortable working autonomously on a Care & Maintenance site and providing strong leadership in a low‑headcount environment.
Essential:
- Eligible and competent to be appointed as a Site Senior Executive (SSE) in WA
- Strong working knowledge of the WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022
- Experience overseeing Care & Maintenance mine sites
- Confident supervising contractors and small site teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Comfortable working in a low‑headcount Care & Maintenance environment where flexibility and a proactive approach are valued.
