The Role:
What you’ll be doing. This isn't just about filing paperwork; you’ll be the commercial "engine room," supporting the Operations, Procurement, and Contract Management teams. Your mission is to ensure every subcontract is compliant, on track, and financially sound.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Cost Mastery: Ownership of the subcontract cost lifecycle. From verifying payment claims and invoices to forecasting and tracking spend against total value.
- Variation & Claim Management: Identifying, evaluating, and negotiating change orders and claims. You’ll be the one ensuring variations are closed out in line with strict project timelines.
- Compliance & Governance: Keeping a watchful eye on subcontract deliverables, including bank guarantees, insurances, and required notices.
- Strategic Reporting: Providing the "big picture" to management through high-level reporting on subcontract performance, key dates, and cost registers.
- Operational Support: Bridging the gap between the Main Contract and Subcontracts, ensuring all obligations flow down correctly during the placement phase.
- Full Lifecycle Control: Managing everything from initial correspondence and meeting minutes to the final subcontract close-out.
We need a meticulous professional who thrives in a high-compliance environment. You should have a strong grasp of subcontract administration within the resources or construction sectors and be comfortable navigating complex variations and cost-tracking systems.
A proactive communicator who can manage stakeholders effectively while keeping the project’s commercial health as your top priority.
